Christmas in Texas

We were able to spend our Christmas holiday with our family, the Spellings, in Round Rock, TX.  On Friday evening we celebrated Sonya and Tracy's 21st Anniversary and Maggie's 13th Birthday at a Mexican Restaurant.  We had a great Christmas and then on Saturday we took a road trip to Fredricksberg, TX and visited the LBJ Ranch and the town square  in Fredicksberg.  A wonderful family time.

Alaska Grandkid's Visit to Iowa

In November our Alaska Grandkids visited Grandpa and Grandma in Huxley.  What a fun time we had with them, visiting the High Trestle Bridge, Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO with Aunt Trisha and then met their parents in St. Louis where we took the ride up to the top of the St. Louis Arch.

The Spellings Summer Vacation

For this year's Spellings' Summer vacation we decided to take a trip down to Branson, Missouri to our favorite, nostalgic theme park: Silver Dollar City.

We got into Silver Dollar City a couple minutes early so we played around and took some pictures to waste time.

After the park opened we bolted straight to the new roller coaster: Outlaw Run. Here's a picture that Sarah snapped when the cart was setting off. (Luke and I are in the back and dad and Maggie are two rows down)
Throughout the day we road more rides, including the train, the great American shoot out, wildfire, thunderation, fire in the hole, the barn swing, and more.
Here's a picture of me and Maggie on wildfire (fourth row up on the far right)
Riding on the train.
Caught red handed.
Sarah and I on thunderation (sshh I took my phone on the ride) :-)
Those five trouble makers were finally caught and thrown in jail. ;-)
And at the end of day one we all sat down to watch a lovely show in echo hollow.

DAY TWO:

On day two( the Fourth of July) we planned on going to more shows than rides. So we started our day off by, of course, taking a family picture by the Silver Dollar City sign.
We then went and saw a performance of young girls clogging and tap dancing.
After that we road thunderation a few times and then it was time for lunch. Mom and dad went to the car to make sandwiches and us kids went to sit in line for the saloon. In the parking lot mom and dad met a surprise. The Wagners were at SDC the same time as us! So we ate lunch and then met up with them for the saloon.
Here's me, Sarah, and Maggie sitting and waiting for the saloon.
After wards a couple of us went on fire in the hole and then we went on a couple more rides.
Here's me on the marry go round with the youngest Wagner boy, Jonah!
After a fun filled day of catching up with each other  and riding rides together we had to go our separate ways.

That night we decided to walk the strip, where we found a go karting place. Us kids ended up going go karting and it was a blast.
Here's Levi and I in our double rider.

     DAY THREE AND FOUR:
On day three we all thought we were going straight home, little did we know mom and dad had a little surprise that started with a 'B' and ended in oucks house. Yes, we were making a detour to the Boucks'  house.
The next day we went to Memphis zoo.

And after the zoo we made a trip over to Jerry's sno cones to cool off.

The next morning we drove home and made it home safely. This trip has been incredible and it will always be such great memories for our family. Going to Silver Dollar city always brings back memories and adds to the fantastic memories we already have.
