After another delightful breakfast at the Gasthaus, a visit to the local church and a walk in the snow, we decided to drive to Salzburg, Austria for the day.  In Salzburg we toured a museum/castle and walked along the decorated streets of Salzburg.

Saturday afternoon in Berchtesgadens

After the Salt Mine adventure we drove to the town Centrum in Berchtesgadens to wonder around the city.  We experienced their "Christmas Markt" and a delightful coffee-dessert break later in the day.

After our wonderful breakfast at the Ramsau Gasthaus we traveled to the "Salt Mines" in Berchtesgadens.  After purchasing the tickets and waiting in line for our time to "dress" in the authentic salt mine uniforms we were ready for an adventure!  We first had to board a "train" to take us deep into the mine. Since no pictures were allowed we had to take them only before and after our tour.

The train that we rode to go into the mine into the side of the
mountain over 1/2 a mile where the salt mining is taking place

Suiting up in the salt mine uniforms

I could not believe how the woman  could look at us and
immediately know what size suit we needed!

Ready to go

Waiting in line again

Friday, December 28 & 29, 2018

On Friday December 28th we drove to the little town of Ramsau where we stayed while visiting Berchtesgadens in southeastern Baveria.  What an excellent time we had there visiting several very interesting places and events.

After arriving (late) Norm and Trisha went into town for a bite to eat.
Trish got a "kick" out of Norm counting out his money to pay!
