Sam & Sarah's Engagement Party

We had the privilege to be able to attend Sam and Sarah's engagement party this past Friday evening in Atlanta, Georgia.  What an exciting event and what a good time we all had.  Friday morning we traveled to Atlanta, GA with Kim, Art and Libby.  There we met and stayed in the same hotel with Peter, Libbie, baby Nancy, Jacob and Ruthie.  We then all met at a restaurant  to await Sam and Sarah's arrival after he had proposed.  What a fun evening of food and fellowship with Sarah's parents and family!

East Iowa Bible Camp Revisited

On Friday we visited East Iowa Bible Camp Family Camp.  Each summer we would spend one week during August at EIBC attending the family camp which our kids loved.  Many happy memories were made there.  Norm and I had a good time Friday reconnecting with several friends that we had met  over the years.  Following are a few pictures of things have been added and also some things that have not changed.

A fun day at East Iowa Bible Camp

Met friends from "yesteryear" Mary and Garrett Hunting
Preparing for the cardboard boat races on the lake
Cardboard boat race on the lake (CCC Praise Puppets won!)
A great zip line tower
Zip line over the lake! (Kids & Adults love it)
The "old chapel" is still there however is now used as a dormitory

A "Noah's Art" for the kids to play in

Same lake

The swimming pool and bath house are the same
A new chapel and dining hall
A wonderful wrap around porch on the new chapel
The cabin where we used to stay (Dean's Cabin) is still there!

Black Hill and Mt. Rushmore

Last week we met our Dutch friends in the Black Hills and visited Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park and The Badlands.  We had never been to South Dakota so it was a great adventure.  So impressive and a great place to visit!
